Preston showed SH Cool Dude in the first go of the Half Arab Open Reining and marked a 214, leading the pack after the first go. Two days later he repeated that streak in the second go scoring a 213, also the highest score, making a composite score of 427.
On Tuesday evening Preston drew up first in the Half Arab Open Finals. He had a great ride and scored a 214.5, the highest score of the show up until that point. He held the high score until Tyson Randal showed Paulis Europena and also scored a 214.5. After all 10 riders showed, Preston and Tyson were still tied for first. A run-off was decided between Preston and Tyson for champion and reserve. Preston was up first again. He and SH Cool Dude started their pattern out strong but unfortunately in their second large fast circle, CD stumbled and Preston accidentally dropped a rein.
