REINING HORSE TRAINING

Preston has years of experience starting colts and training show horses. His primary focus is training Quarter Horses, Arabians, and Half-Arabians. The horses he has started and trained have gone on to win in open and amateur reining and other working western disciplines. We ask for a minimum commitment of 90 days and charge $400 for a month of training.

We are always looking for new horses to add to our training program. Spaces fill up quickly, so the sooner you contact us, the better. Preston trains at the world-class equine facility, Heritage Ranch. Heritage offers indoor and outdoor boarding that is separate from our monthly training fee. They charge $450 a month for board that includes stall cleaning and twice-a-day feeding. Whether you have a colt that needs to be started, or futurity or derby horse that is ready show, Preston can help. You can read testimonials from some of Preston’s clients here.

SHOWING HORSES

Preston has competed for many years at NRHA and AHA shows. When our clients are ready to go to a show, Preston offers hauling – at $0.50 a mile – and full horse care at the show, including daily training, grooming, feeding, and stall cleaning for $50 a day. He makes sure the horses are on time and ready for their classes – giving the client lessons before and at the show – and coaching from outside the show ring.

HORSE LESSONS

Preston offers private reining lessons to his clients. These lessons are not general riding lessons. Reining experience is required. The lessons cost $50 a session and last about an hour. You’ll learn how to properly maneuver the horse and prepare for shows. The client must provide the reining horse. Preferably the horse is already in training with Preston.
