SH Cool Dude
Preston showed SH Cool Dude in the first go of the Half Arab Open Reining and marked a 214, leading the pack after the first go. Two days later he repeated that streak in the second go scoring a 213, also the highest score, making a composite score of 427.
On Tuesday evening Preston drew up first in the Half Arab Open Finals. He had a great ride and scored a 214.5, the highest score of the show up until that point. He held the high score until Tyson Randal showed Paulis Europena and also scored a 214.5. After all 10 riders showed, Preston and Tyson were still tied for first. A run-off was decided between Preston and Tyson for champion and reserve. Preston was up first again. He and SH Cool Dude started their pattern out strong but unfortunately in their second large fast circle, CD stumbled and Preston accidentally dropped a rein. In a heart breaking turn of events Preston had to stop CD to pick up his rein and his pattern was over, they of course zeroed. We are so grateful for the Reserve National Champion title and we are very proud of SH Cool Dude. He is a remarkable horse with a heart of gold and proudly owned by Diane Comeau of Alberta, Canada.
SH Cool Dude was doing double duty showing in both the Half Arab open with Preston and the amateur with owner Diane Comeau. After three runs we are pleased to wish a HUGE congratulations to Diane for taking home some serious hardware and WINNING the HA Reining Intermediate Non Pro AAOTR and HA Reining Limited Non Pro AAOTR!!! This was Diane’s very first US Nationals and we are so proud of her! Her dedication and hard work has paid off and she totally deserves it! SH Cool Dude is a total rock star and has had an incredible show. We are so grateful for Diane and her parents, Madeliene and Alfred Comeau, they are wonderful clients!
The winning streak continued with Preston and SH Cockadudealou taking home a Top Ten in the very competitive Half Arab Reining Futurity and the Half Arab Junior Horse! Lou is such a sweet horse with incredible athletic ability, we look forward to showing him again. SH Cockadudealou is owned by Kevin and Matthew Stains.
Nobles Top Gun
To round out the week Nathan Kent and Nobles Top Gun took home the 2013 National Champion trophy in Arabian Open Reining! “The sheer talent and athleticism of this horse amazes me every time I ride him” said Nathan after the win. This is an incredible win for such an incredible horse. Nobles Top Gun is owned by Sage Hill Arabians from Malad, Idaho and standing at Nathan Kent Performance Horses in Kuna, Idaho.
Dave Kent and SH Pistoleero tried out the new Ranch Sorting class for the first time. Dave and his partner Gus Holland from Oklahoma finished 4th in Ranch Sorting and took home a chunk of the prize money. Pretty good for first timers!
